Get a flat first license.
Most of the pit falls, know to prevent the basics to be able to get your license. Your list for a qualified mentor to work with them. It is much easier for both if the two were talking in the language itself. The judge of the most successful, not always necessary to reinvent the wheel.
Having said this, I'm sure there will be some who want to learn from scratch if you do not know that their bad habits.
